South Loop Comes of Age With “New” Gold Coast

In the last few decades, the South Loop used to be known as the “cheaper” part of downtown.  But not anymore.  One Museum Park, with its million dollar condos with lake and Grant Park views, is only one element that is changing the perception of the area for those looking for “luxury” living.

There are expensive townhomes and condos tucked into the Prairie Historic District that give the Gold Coast a run for its money and are returning the area to its “moneyed” past.

Still prefer Gold Coast, no comparison to this area. Prices are way inflated, no thanks. The Marshall Field house looks nice

  2. How can you not love the South Loop the inflation is well deserved, the properties are brand new and many have spectacular lake and Navy Pier views, can’t find that anywhere else, especially units with some decent square footage.

  3. Even though the South Loop is all new and shiny, it still cannot compare to Gold Coast. Gold Coast has the ESTABLISHMENT effects, it reminds me of upmarket London neighborhoods such as Chelsea, Mayfair and St. Johns Wood.
