Are We Back To 2007 Prices On 2-Bedroom Lakeview Townhouses? 1125 W. Newport

1125 w newport

This 2-bedroom townhouse at 1125 W. Newport in Lakeview just came on the market.

We’ve chattered about this complex before. This townhouse is one of the highly coveted corner units.

It has the standard townhouse layout with the two bedrooms on the third floor, the living/dining/kitchen on the middle floor, with a family room on the main level.

The kitchen has maple cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

It has central air and an attached one car garage.

I couldn’t find the 2007 sales price in the public record but Zillow and Redfin list it as $492,000.

The townhouse has come back on the market at $495,000.

Are we back to 2007 prices for townhouses in Lakeview?

  1. I assume the listing was supposed to read “4 minutes to the El.” Nice place and well priced – I’m kind of surprised the sale price wasn’t higher in 2007.

  2. I used to live across the street from this place. Very narrow units and people move every 3-4 years. Complex backs up to the brown line. Square footages were frequently exaggerated by 300 square feet or more by realtors of people trying to sell in this complex. Where are the ethics? Good to see this one didnt even have a square footage listed.

  3. I live in Newport Place and love it. Not sure why Dave M is bashing it, I don’t find any of his criticism accurate and unlike him I actually live there (three years with no plans on moving anytime soon). Great community atmosphere and great first home experience for me.

Thanks for the update T.S. We chattered about it in 2010!

  6. I moved out from across the street in 2009. People did move out of that complex every 3 to 4 years back when I lived there and the units are narrow. I would love to see stats on the building and how the 2005 or 2006 buyers ended up.

  7. Wasn’t there a corner unit on the L side of the complex listed for like 2 years now @ ~$350K?
