We Love Huge Printers Row Authentic Brick and Timber Lofts: 711 S. Dearborn

711 s dearborn approved

This 1200-square foot 1-bedroom brick and timber loft in the Donohue Building at 711 S. Dearborn just came on the market.

The kitchen and bath have been upgraded since the original conversion in the 1990s.

It has espresso cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a white tile backsplash.

There are also white tiles in the bathroom.

It’s a top floor unit with timber ceilings and walls of exposed brick.

This building has some great windows and this unit is no exception with its large arched windows in the living room.

It’s one of the rare Donohue units that has central air (most have window units.)

It also has in-unit washer/dryer.

Parking is available just up the street for $35,000 in 801 S. Plymouth or you can rent around the corner.

The assessment  includes the heat.

With almost nothing available on the market, will this unit go under contract this week?

Judy Howard at Prudential Rubloff has the listing. See the pictures here.

  1. Beautiful place that hits a couple major grace notes: w/d, central air. Heat is included in your assessments which is a huge plus considering the volume of the space you’d have to heat during the cold months. Parking: at least it’s available for a price, but if you worked downtown I imagine the car would sit idle most of the time. What’s not to like?

  2. I don’t like the idea of paying $300k and not having a second bathroom…nor do I like the lack of a bath tub in the one bathroom.

  4. Cool, spacious place, but seems terribly impractical. Do people who live here just never have anyone overnight–no friends from the alma mater, no siblings yearning for a night in the city, not even the occasional BFF who drank too much and needs to sleep it off? Yes, there are a plethora of hotels nearby, but oftentimes that’s rude to insist upon. Or perhaps people who buy this type of place are just not all that warm and loving.

  7. Haha Jay you got it. Although I don’t like bath tubs. I prefer a shower any day.

  8. Nice place and a good price. The realtor should probably know better than to list Jones College Prep high school. Buying this place won’t get you in there any more than buying a place in Old Town will get you into Walter Payton.
