130-s-canal-_1-approved

This 2-bedroom at Metropolitan Place at 130 S. Canal in the West Loop came on the market in March 2015.

The building was converted into concrete lofts in 1999 and has 212 units plus a heated indoor garage.

It is across from Union Station making it the ideal location for those who need to commute.

This loft has 10-foot ceilings and an east facing balcony.

The master suite has a walk-in closet and bathroom.

The kitchen has white appliances and white cabinets.

The loft has the other features buyers look for including central air, washer/dryer in the unit and parking is $25,000 extra.

There are currently 8 units on the market in the building and 3 are under contract.

10 units have also already closed in 2015.

Listed for $389,900 in March 2015, it was reduced $15,000 in early May to $374,900.

  1. This place and its finishes are depressing.

  2. Maybe it’s hot because it’s cheap? It looks terrible.

  3. This is the old Florsheim building. In my former life as a litigation paralegal I worked right next door. The developers invited us over to get in on “ground floor prices” and some considered it except they didn’t want to be so close to work.

I couldn’t afford something like this at the time (thank God for small miracles) but my thought on that reasoning was… why assume you are always going to work here?

Is that an opinion on Icky, his responding, or the (presumed) firm in question?

  7. “Is that an opinion on Icky, his responding, or the (presumed) firm in question?”

or his questionble performance as a paralegal (or whatev he was), or his decision to buy a minivan, or his (really highly suspicious, “yeah I must have misplaced it”) loss of wedding ring. could be anything really.

  9. to be honest, i accidentally clicked the thumbs down when it was -1.

Sabrina should really allow us to amend our own votes and edit our own comments for spelling errors etc.

We’ve had this discussion in the past. I’ve called this building “loop” and I’ve called it “west loop” but the consensus was that anything actually west of the River is considered “west loop.”

Not me. West Loop (at least in any way that’s ‘cool’) is across the Kennedy.

  13. Yes not much going on right outside your door after 7pm, but the surrounding area has gotten more dining options on Jefferson & Clinton streets in the past year or so. Greek Town is about a 10 min walk from here. I used to live down the street on Jefferson and VanBuren and kind of miss the peace a quiet in the evenings and on the weekends, yet it is a short walk to West Loop proper. I’ve seen a couple of unis in this building; decent square footage but kinda boring for a loft.
