Always Wanted to Live in a Gold Coast Brownstone? A 1-Bedroom at 21 E. Goethe

21 e goethe approved

This duplex 1-bedroom at 21 E. Goethe in the Gold Coast came on the market in May 2017.

The brownstone was built in 1886 and has 5 units.

I believe this unit is actually in the reddish building next to the white one and that they are both in the association.

While the building is old, the interiors of this unit do not have any of the original features except for a wood burning fireplace.

It has a unique layout with a first floor bedroom and full bath and a second floor living area with a half bath.

It has a Juliet balcony overlooking Goethe and a deck overlooking the back of the building.

The kitchen has white cabinets and stainless steel appliances.

This unit has the features buyers look for including central air, which the listing says was just replaced in 2017, washer/dryer in the unit and assigned exterior parking.

It has been reduced $55,000 to $425,000 since May.

For someone with dreams of living among the brownstones, is this a good way to get in?

Alia Kolovic at Century 21 Affiliated has the listing. See the pictures and floor plan here.

  2. Sabrina, this isn’t 1886 sqft, that is the year it was built!

This place might be 1000 sqft

You’re right. There’s no square footage listed, actually. I must have been losing my mind last night. 😉

  4. So unique. A one bedroom that isn’t a highrise in the GC is remarkable. Terraces, laundry, stainless, oh my.
