  1. Not one but two TVs above fireplaces (living room & bedroom);
    5000 sq ft, 2 car garage on a 25×150 lot? That sliver of grass is your “yard”;
    With the large number of bedrooms, this home is ‘purfect’ for a prominent millionaire family with 4 or 5 children attending Blaine;
    Gotta be careful because the the kids might crayon up the walls or scratch up the ‘tiger wood’ hardwood floors.
    With an asking price of $1,999,900 its like they’re giving it away.
    If I had an income or $650,000 or so a year, or $1,000,000 I planed to use as a down payment, this exquisite unit would be my first choice.

  2. That’s not north center. It’s east of Ashland–it’s lakeview. West lakeview, if you insist, but it ain’t north center. Officially speaking (w/r/t the City’s neighborhood designations), north center ends at Ravenswood Avenue–3 blocks west of this thing.

  3. “Gotta be careful because the the kids might crayon up the walls ”

    And this nonsense is on the same level as “all CPS are baaaad and scary”. Might as well worry about the sh!tty kids being drug dealers and having the house confiscated thru forfeiture.

  4. That does not look like a $2 million home. Is it 12 ft wide?

    It’s not nonsense it’s a valid concern. If you have a 6 bedroom home and 4 or 5 kids you gotta expect messes and damage. Ask my sister. She took a phone call and 10 minutes later her kids crayoned up the walls and poured an entire bottle of maple syrup on the carpet.

    Your sister has out of control kids–which says nothing about her and a lot about her kids. I know no one (and I have kids, so I know a lot of people with kids currently; still I know absolutely nobody with this problem) who has ever had their kids crayoning the walls or pouring stuff on the floor or putting bologna in the dvd player.

    Reminds me of those proud homeowners who are now underwater. What did she think she was getting into when she decided to have little darlings?

    Little kids make mess. It’s a fact of life, so you just have to deal with it for a few years.

  8. My point is that this house is extremely nice and has very high end finishes and 6 bedrooms. Yet they advertise the fact that its located within the Blaine school district. High end finishes and lots of children don’t go together well. This is a $2,000,000 home and they point out that its great for lots of little ones. Doesn’t anyone else see the irony in this?

    And as far as out of control children, that’s just what children do. That’s why they’re children. I’m not going to bicker about the stupid stuff that kids do; I’m sure we’ve all done stupid things. Like the time my sister and I hung from the ceiling fan and ripped it out; or the time I cut the lamp cord with a pair of sissors, or the time my sister dropped the cat from the top of the stairs, etc.

  9. “And as far as out of control children, that’s just what children do.”

    That’s what **some** children do. Not all kids are like that–lots of them cause trouble in other, less-destructive-to-property ways. It’s kind of like saying “joining street gangs is what children do”–it’s an absurd generalization that simply cannot be assumed to apply to all.

  10. You can’t even compare children crayoning up the walls and joining street gangs. They’re two seperate things and moreover involve different age group. No hard feelings, but this is a housing forum, and I take full responsibilty for digressing on a tangent about children. Feel free to get the last word if you need it but I’ve got a meeting I have to attend.

  11. Y’all are forgetting that if you had the income to buy this thing, the nanny or the au pair would be minding the kids, and the cleaning lady would take care of the crayon on the walls…

    going to public school? maybe, so they’d get exposure to “regular kids” before they go off to violin lessons and chinese lessons and math tutoring…

  12. How many prominent millionaire parents are out there with 4 kids, who are looking to live in west Lake View and send their kids to Blaine? I’m thinking zero.

  13. They just need to find one. Which they wont.
