Lakeview Penthouse Waiting for a Buyer: 2819 N. Lakewood

The listing calls it a “Lincoln Park Penthouse” but this 2-bedroom at 2819 N. Lakewood is north of Diversey, which makes it Lakeview in my book.

  1. Penthouse in a 3 story… That’s being liberal.
Oh wait I forgot… realtors will say anything. btw..can you make spell check stop suggesting I make the word realtors cap R. To me a capped first letter denotes a level of respect to title. I will never make the change. Maybe instead it should suggest a 2 size font.

  2. This is nice unit, in a good location, with decent (albeit cookie-cutter) finishes. The fact that it’s been sitting at the same price since June is very telling…. that it’s, wait for it…. wait for it … overpriced 🙂

  3. I bet if they keep it at that price, it will sell over the winter. HA

  4. I actually like this place, and I don’t like most new construction. But it is not a “penthouse”- this habit realtors have of labelling all top floor units as “penthouses” is irksome.

If they drop the price to $400K, it will probably sell.

  5. If you are waiting for a top-floor, practically new, 2 bed/2bath in Lakeview to drop down to 400K you will be waiting so long that the market will have rebounded. Yes, if they sell in the next 3-4 months, they’ll likely take a loss but there’s a big difference between $470K-475K and $400K.

  7. I wouldn’t want to buy it simply because I’m tired of realtors trying to stretch the boundaries of “classy” neighborhoods. If it’s in Lakeview, say so.

  8. better yet, call it Lake View, which is the name of the high school, the community area, the original township, etc., etc., etc.

  9. Still its not like the realtor did a huge stretch here. This place is less than 100′ from Lincoln Park. Its much more like Lincoln Park than ‘West Lakeview’ is like ‘East Lakeview’.

Irrelevant. A lie is a lie, and anyone pitching anything north of 2800 as Lincoln Park is lying through their teeth, and knowingly.
