Looking for a Modern 3-Bedroom in East Lakeview? 506 W. Roscoe

506 w roscoe

This 3-bedroom at 506 W. Roscoe in East Lakeview came on the market in February 2018.

This is a 9 unit elevator building that was built in 2004 and has garage parking.

The listing says this 2,000 square foot unit was the builder model and has been upgraded.

The master suite has his and her walk-in closets and a master bath with a walk-in marble shower, dual vanities and a Jacuzzi tub.

The kitchen has wood cabinets, black granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and the listing says “unique” lighting.

There’s a 20×10 balcony.

This unit also has 2 indoor parking spots with direct elevator access to the unit.

The listing also says the unit has its own a/c and heating controls.

It has central air and washer/dryer in the unit.

The property is located just steps to the Lake Shore underpass which gives you access to the Lake front.

It’s difficult to find new or newer construction in East Lakeview as it was the first area in the neighborhood that was developed so most construction is vintage.

Buyers love big 3-bedroom units.

Is this a good single family home alternative in this popular neighborhood?

George Ayling at Select-a-Fee RE System has the listing. See the pictures here.

Or go to the open house on Saturday, March 17 or Sunday, March 18 from 12 to 2PM.

  1. Might be modern for 2004… (its not)

Those taxes are going to skyrocket if this sells near ask

no clue what a place like this is worth, 2 parking spaces here alone is worth a lot but definitely not my style

  5. IIRC, they tore down a pretty nice vintage building to build this place.

  6. Bet it’s the same dollar store shelving in the closets as in the laundry room.

Does no one know how to reverse the door on their dryer?

  9. “Those appliances were never luxury or modern.”

They were barely ok 14 years ago, at $595k, in a brand new unit.

Now the refrigerator and the dishwasher need to be replaced soon, and range and microhood just suck.

At $860k, they should include a $10k giftcard to Abt to replace them all.

  10. I give props for the fact that the kitchen cabs go all the way to the ceiling though. You don’t see enough of that in supposedly high end units.

so you work for Abt right?

Don’t think I’ve ever encountered a person who knows so much about household appliances

  14. Lots of new listings, lots of listings priced with frothy-expectation that there’s a buyer willing to overpay for their particular home. this price here seems entirely unrealistic, perhaps owner is “just testing market”?

  15. “so you work for Abt right?”

Yes, that’s right, I’m a 50-something female retired chemist who is now working part time at Abt, having completed a two-year appliance repair program so that I can be the best darn appliance salesperson in the world. Looking forward to my next two decades selling refrigerators.

If that’s your dream, then yes.

You mock it. But someone out there is dreaming about opening up a vineyard, which is just glorified farming.

    Everyone is different.

  17. Speaking of vineyards, I just read an article that Status Vineyard buyers are really raping the land in Napa. Building everywhere, taking nutrients out of the soil, it’s becoming a big problem. Also, my friend worked at ABT out of college. Those salespeople make pretty good money. I thought it would be a retail job but you get clientele that only deal with you and you can make $100k or so a year.

Yes, that’s exactly how anyone on the intertubez talks about themselves.

  20. Hate the exterior but the interior appears surprisingly homey considering it’s so new. Decent looking layout, though it seems a bit dark inside. And the location is unbeatable (IMO, anyway). I grew up around the block from here. Would love to be back in the neighborhood. But generally prefer vintage.
