Live in the Heart of it all in a Full Floor River North Penthouse at 21 E. Huron

This 4-bedroom penthouse in The Pinnacle at 21 E. Huron in River North came on the market in February 2017.

The Pinnacle was constructed in 2004 and has an attached parking garage.

It’s a full service building with 213 units and a doorman.

This penthouse is on the 46th floor and has 360 degree views from its floor-to-ceiling windows.

The elevator opens into a private foyer.

All four bedrooms are en suite and the master suite has 2 large walk-in-closets.

There’s a 1000 bottle wine room.

The kitchen has white modern cabinets, stone counter tops and luxury stainless steel appliances.

There’s a 250 square foot east facing recessed terrace with lake views.

The unit has central air, washer/dryer in the unit and 2 garage spaces in the resident only garage included.

Originally listed in February 2017 for $4.95 million, it has been reduced to $3.7 million.

That’s the same price it sold for in 2013.

6 years after that sale, there are a dozen new luxury towers in Chicago with several more still under construction.

Are developers overbuilding the luxury condo market?

Randi Pellar at Baird & Warner has the listing. See the pictures here.

  2. I’m sure it’s a nice life living there, but 25k per month with a mortgage…for that much, I might have higher expectations for new and overall company in the building.

  3. I like this place a lot better than the one from yesterday’s post for 3x the price… I think 21 E huron should hire their tax attorney though… ouch

you could buy this plus a sweet house in Malibu and still have a few million left over

  4. Can’t say whether the place is worth the price or not; too distracted by the almost empty roll of toilet paper in pic 19.

  5. I’d choose this in a heartbeat over the $13 million penthouse from the other day. Save $9 million and have better views. Plus the finishings make it seem more like a home and less like a museum. The outdoor space looks very attractive, too.

Those assessments and taxes are killer, though. I’m guessing it takes a while to find someone who wants to spend $150,000 a year on those two items.
