  1. I’d live there. And in relevance to previous discussions in the comments of this board, I think this is a great sort of family starter home (depending on the square footage). Family-friendly neighborhood, cute yard/private space, lovely area overall, and near some very good public schools. With 2beds, would surely be too small for a family with more than 1 kid though, that’s why I say “starter” home . . .

  3. I would never live here. Sometimes I really wonder what they hell developers were thinking in the 70s and early 80s. Looks like a Frank Lloyd Wright wannabe gone predictably, horribly wrong.

  4. I kind of like this place. In general, I’d take bad but interesting architecture over boring and inoffensive any day. However, what bugs me about this place is the lofted kitchen and dining room. I don’t know if many buyers would want to go upstairs every time they want a snack while they watch TV. Not a big problem for me, but I wonder if it’s an issue for resale. Also, the units look a bit shabby in person. The usual 80s townhouse problems…dirty walls, caulk around the windows peeling, and things generally looking cheap.

    It’s probably good for your weight. You’d either snack less or walk the stairs more.

  6. It is strange that someone considers this architecture “interesting.” I was wondering if the home seconds as a Jiffy Lube. If you look closely, you can see a car rack behind the fence.

  7. “Interesting” is architecture code for either ugly or representative of a period/style which is generally considered to be of little merit. This place is both.

    And it’s way too fancy for a Jiffy Lube–it’s more an “Import Specialist” kind of place.

  8. There was a time when developers took interest in the entire development, since the land value of the 4 units, alone, might justify a price such as this, or more, for each of the 4 homes.

  9. A friend was the original owner of the front unit in the 80’s. It worked for a single guy. The neighborhood was different then, before the gated townhomes were built on the south side of the street. It was pretty basic with high windows. Certainly works for a single, couple, starter. Not everyone has a family.
