The listing described the history of the building:
This building is a part of Chicago’s heritage, having been built originally in 1908 as the Felt and Tarrant Manufacturing Company, which created Comptometers, one of the original calculators. It was then turn into the Paulina Arts Center in the 1980s to home some undiscovered and talented artists of the time.

It appears that this is the first time it’s been on the market since 2008.

“all that you expect in a NY-style loft condominium”
What are those things?
According to one source:
“NYC Lofts often have distinct architectural features such as high ceilings, large open spaces, exposed brick, large windows, and iron or wood columns.”
It certainly has the high ceiling and the exposed brick. The windows are large if not feeling a bit odd in relation to the interior layout. BUT no large open spaces, and no vintage columns.
Sale from last November comes much closer to “all [I] expect”:

Yes, it was 50% more, but I’d argue that it is at least twice as nice.
Also:
“a mere 10-minute walk to the Damen Blue Line”
Google says 15. And 17 to Division blue, so should just claim 10 to both.
And:
How does it have no unit next to it? Based on the views from the corner windows (Walsh Park apartments, St Mary of the Angels dome), it’s the NW corner right above the main door. Makes the third exposure the one narrow window facing east–to the right in pic 7. Get some decent sunrise light in the summer, but that’s about it.
Sabrina, repeating a lie doesn’t make it true.
Not Bucktown
“all that you expect in a NY-style loft condominium”
low/mid level finishes from the early 2000’s?
I never realized that the very SE corner was the heart of Bucktown.
Zero chance this is 1100sf, be willing to bet it’s a metric shit ton closer to 950sf, so the real cost is $621/sf

And almost twice as big
At ask, buyer better have a real long term horizon for ownership
