3-Bedroom with Vintage Elegance Returns at $625,000: 2910 N. Pine Grove in Lakeview
This corner 3-bedroom at 2910 N. Pine Grove in Lakeview came on the market in March 2022.
But if it looks familiar, that’s because we have actually chattered about it twice before.
In 2011, it took 2 1/2 years and several price reductions to finally sell at $390,000.
In 2018, many of you still loved the vintage bones of this unit but complained about the dark wood floors in most of the apartment with the exception of the kitchen, which apparently had the original maple floors.
See our chatter here.
Built in 1917 by architect Roy France, 2910 N. Pine Grove has 26 units. There’s no parking but there’s separate storage and this unit has a 9×7 storage unit.
This unit has some of its vintage features including 9″ ceilings with crown moldings in the living and dining rooms.
There’s a decorative fireplace in the living room and a den with two walls of windows which the listing says could be used as an office.
There are three bedrooms.
The kitchen is a “Chef’s kitchen” with new white cabinet fronts and hardware and Viking and Bosch appliances along with a newly constructed kitchen pantry.
There are Kohler fixtures in the bathrooms.
The listing says it has a new washer/dryer in the unit. There’s no central air but it has “2 new wifi/alexa top of the line a/c window units with 8&10 BTUs.”
There’s no parking with the building but there are “leased parking options next door” and in the neighborhood for $175 to $225 a month).
This building is located in a landmark district which is steps from express buses and the shops and restaurants on Broadway, Clark and Diversey.
The listing says its in the Nettlehorst school district.
Listed at $625,000, is this 3-bedroom a townhouse alternative?
Lisa Reznick at @properties Christie’s International has the listing. See the pictures and floor plan here.

Is highlighting a massive collection of shoes some new Realator marketing method? Pictures are horrible Vs the previous sales
No AC, no parking, challenging BR/BA layout, peak pricing in raising rate enviroment?
Good luck
A lot of shoes, and a lot of redundancy in the shoes, I noticed. Some overlap. But yes, she does like her shoes apparently. Hope the new home has plenty of room for shoes.
Leaving clothes in the washer and dryer for picture time is Klassy
Direct dryer vent into the kitchen
“Direct dryer vent into the kitchen”
That’s a condensing euro style dryer. So no direct vent and sends very little heat into the area but they MUCH more time to actually dry the clothes.
“MUCH more time to actually dry the clothes”
And if you aren’t diligent in keeping the filters clean, even more time.
Why does (almost) no one reverse the dryer door when stacking machines?
they painted the stone fireplace white
I love what they did with the kitchen and love the black paint to really set it off. This is the first time we’ve seen someone admit to just putting on new cabinet fronts. Cheaper, but nice, improvement to the look. It modernized it.
Just shows you you don’t need to do a whole kitchen renovation to give it an update.
I love that den in this unit. What a great place to “work from home” every day. Lots of light and you can see what’s happening out on the street.
I like this place overall. Vintage details, generally tasteful modernizations/updates (notwithstanding painting the stone fireplace white as previously mentioned…), and lots of space including a great office that they did NOT count as a bedroom like some realtors would do.
Of course, no parking and no central air hurt it, but from a practical standpoint, I don’t think next door rental parking and window units are that bad really, although they hurt the value of the unit. HOA is somewhat high, but to be expected in vintage unit and for what you get (heat, internet), so not too bad.
Wish it was a top floor. Good location overall. Outdoor space isn’t big but at least it exists — I feel like it could be used better.
I wasn’t overly impressed by the listing though I like the building and neighborhood. I think there are better vintage units available for this kind of money. Nothing really wrong with the unit, but there’s nothing outstanding either.
Cord violations in the baby’s room will haunt me. But I dig that throne/coat and backpack rack item in the entry way. We looked at a few 3 beds like this in LV in 2010. Big and charming, but no parking with little kids was ultimately a no-go.
“I think there are better vintage units available for this kind of money.”
There are 34 properties available in Lakeview right now that are 3/2s under $700,000.
Just 34.
One of them is a townhouse on Briar that we chattered about last year that is now listed at $699,000 with an outdoor parking space. Another one is a 3-bedroom vintage unit at 3166 N Cambridge, that we also chattered about a few months ago.
