If it seems familiar, that’s because we chattered about it a couple of times the last time it was on the market which was in 2010.

If you recall, the house had the urban oasis backyard back in 2010 as well.
It has a built-in irrigation system and has been featured on the Sheffield Garden Walk in the past.
The house was built in 1900 on a slightly smaller than normal Chicago lot of 24×118.
It has 10 foot ceilings.
Three of the bedrooms are on the second floor, along with 2 bathrooms, including a “newly refreshed” master bath. The fourth bedroom is on the main level along with a small den/office.
There are skylights.
The basement is partially finished with part of it used for storage and the other part as a recreation area.
The kitchen has white cabinets, soapstone counter tops and stainless steel appliances.
There’s a separate dining room.
The house has the other features buyers look for including central air and a 2-car garage.
The listing says it’s in the Oscar Mayer school district.
At $975,000, that would put it in the price range of many new construction duplex down units in Lincoln Park and Lakeview.

Proximity to Pequods is worth like 100k right
This did catch my interest back in 2010. Problem is that the home is literally situated smack dab in the middle of the front sidewalk with zero privacy/security on a super busy heavily trafficked street. If that doesn’t bother you-then it may be worth a look? This really should never be a million dollar home-but it’s how bad some parents want to be in the coveted Oscar Mayer school district…
Is Oscar Mayer coveted now?
I don’t understand this one. Its in the shittiest part of Lincoln Park location wise. Its a million bucks. It is COMPLETELY cookie cutter gut rehab. No idea why this would sell but it looks like it might.
Personally I’d take my $1MM elsewhere and buy a nice older home with its woodwork and features still intact.
I completely agree with a. Crappiest part of LP. In fact, it shouldn’t even be called Lincoln Park.it south be called Clyport. And not in a million years would I buy a place right on the sidewalk like that. The kitchen is good though.
