55 Feet of Direct Lake Views from Floor to Ceiling Windows: 65 E. Monroe in the Loop
This 3-Bedroom in the Park Monroe at 65 E. Monroe in the Loop came on the market in August 2020.
Built in 2013, the Park Monroe has 216 units and garage parking.
It takes up the top floors of the building and has an indoor pool and rooftop sundeck.
This unit is on the 40th floor and has direct Lake and Millennium Park and Grant Park views.
The listing says it has 55 feet of open glass with views from the floor to ceiling windows.
It has 10 foot ceilings.
There are walnut floors.
The unit has a Control 4 plus Lutron smart home system, surround sound and electronic shades.
The listing says the kitchen was “totally remodeled” in 2018 by Victoria Revzin of Avanti.
It has a full Viking commercial kitchen with Subzero refrigerator and wine chiller, quartez waterfall countertops and an island that seats four.
The primary suite has 2 walk-in-closets and an en suite bath that has 2 separate sinks.
One of the other bedrooms is also en suite.
There’s a library.
This unit has the features buyers look for including central air, washer/dryer in the unit and 2-car garage parking is included.
However, it doesn’t have any private outdoor space.
Listed at $2.9 million, does the lack of a terrace or balcony still matter to buyers with the vaccine being rolled out?
Patricia Young at @Properties has the listing. See the pictures here (sorry, no floor plan).

I would say this will be a tough sell at this price point for the location and considering the unit is without private outdoor space.
Is this a money laundering building?.
$3MM for this? GTFO.
At > $800/sf (And The 3500sf seems generous) the walls better be made of Bolivian marching powder. There’s a smaller 3 bed on a higher floor for sale at $400/sf with what some dolts claim is the preferred city view, ergo this is overpriced
Would think you could do better renting @ $5/sf and pocketing the 1/2 Mil
Guessing the owner is the “designer”. Really thinking outside the box with that design
“the walls better be made of Bolivian marching powder”
Hahahahaha. I love how so many listings these days feature a Peloton, a home office, and a makeshift school!
I bet the hot tub is reopening in 2024.
An updated kitchen adds 30%+ to a house when there are 1 – 2 years+ condo supply in and around the loop? Good luck….. They will be lucky to sell for the 2014 price.
“full Viking commercial kitchen”
Why would they put in commercial depth appliances? Also, that line has been discontinued.
They probably meant “professional”, but the wall oven is a 5 series, so not really right, either.
And given that Viking has refrigeration products, I don’t understand how one has a “full Viking kitchen” with SubZero products.
Typical realtor goofiness on kitchen description.
“kitchen designed by Victoria Revzin of Avanti ”
does ANYONE actually care about this. I had to look up the place. so we have a downtown Chicago kitchen designed by the owner of a kitchen showroom in Highland Park. BFD.
Lel way overpriced. That kids room looks legit for playing in tho.
Also these peleton’s are a joke. I much prefer my carbon bike on a trainer in the winter… and you know, as a real bike the rest of the year haha.
This is when a fool & their money are parted. There is no way in hell this thing is worth 32% more than what they paid for it only four short years ago. If the owner went out and did a bunch of upgrades under the premise that they would get a return on those upgrades they’re about to learn that return is negative and those upgrades were an expense.
In bubbilicious times some forget that when you pour a bunch of money into upgrades you are pigeon-holing your property into a further niche of those who share your tastes and have a willingness to pay extra for it.
Also the mortgage estimator on Redfin looks comical with the assumption that the new owner can just get a jumbo loan of 2.3MM at 2.67% APR. I know rates have dropped but I doubt for jumbos they have dropped that much.
“And given that Viking has refrigeration products, I don’t understand how one has a “full Viking kitchen” with SubZero products.”
It has horns you can drink out of in the cabinets which will be let behind to the new owner assuming there ever even is a new owner.
There is no way four people are comfortably sitting at that kitchen island. THREE can sit there and one of the stools will get pushed around the corner.
No one seems to want to call this unit home for very long. I am also giggling at the prospect of some professional on a zoom call with their bed and their peloton in the background . . . Not acceptable in a home at this price point. Where is the library / office or did they mean the third bed / kids home school?
Also with no private outdoor space this is just no bueno.
The 303 W. Ohio Listing from Today (12/30/20) has a kitchen island that actually seats four in case anyone is interested in what that actually looks like. That is how much space you need in between seats for people to actually get in and out of their seat. LOL.
