A Rare 4-Car Garage with a Single Family Home: 6316 N. Magnolia in Edgewater

This 4-bedroom vintage Victorian single family house at 6316 N. Magnolia in the Magnolia Glen neighborhood of Edgewater came on the market in December 2009.

The listing says it is on a double wide lot of 50×125. It also has a rare 4-car garage.

The house has many of its vintage 1904 features intact including woodwork, built-ins, what looks like stained glass next to the staircase, and a woodburning fireplace.

It is also bank owned.

On the market less than a month, it has already had one $14,000 price reduction.

The house is listed just $19,900 over its 2002 purchase price.

The kitchen and at least one of the 4 bathrooms appear to be somewhat intact.

David Piche at Re/Max Signature has the listing. See the pictures (including interiors) here.

  1. So funny,
I just toured this house yesterday.
The woodwork, pocket doors, fireplace and stairs are beautiful!

The upstairs has a bizarre, butchered floorplan so that the grand staircase leadus up to a master suite with horrible bathroom and there is another bedroom( maids) and bath in the back of the second floor you can get to by the back stairs.

It’s difficult to imagine a way to have a proper master suite and two other bedrooms up there off of a normal hall.

Also the entire front porch is botched.

This place would need at least 150-200k to make it great.

The price will have to come waaaaay down.

  3. awesome azz place, but who are the F’tards that cheesed up the kitchen and bath in a totaly different style than the rest of the vintage house?

Did they seriously turn that porch into a brick porch?

Any feel for what they did or did not do as far as the systems? b/c if the damage is mostly cosmetic and they added value to the place?
