beautiful unit, I wish my condo had looked this nice. however, no parking onsite. and madeline’s reveal makes it less appealing.

this hole place looks brand new, no vintage, well the closed off fireplace and painted over mantle i guess can be called vintage.

Haven’t seen you running around portage park anymore? Well probably as i haven’t been down central since they closed down the street for sewer work. also since its winter i don’t go over to rudy’s bike either, and the have a leadbelly by me on milwaukee ave.

since the twins arrived, time is even scarcer than ever. I’ve had to do most of my feeble mileage on the dreadmill (the runner’s equivalent of going over to the Dark Side).
Sad that leadbelly had to change its name. I think they also took over Central Kitchen and Tap, hope they have better success.

Groove – sadly yes, we did leave west loop for the burbs. Mainly because one became three kids. And that needed kid friendly space.

If i would venture to guess, you moved to Oak Park/River Forest. You wouldnt go Park Ridge as you would have just moved to edgebrook, norwood, or sauganash. I dont think you would hit Elmhurst to burban for you. nor would you do glenview for the same reason. Evanston could be an option but too far north as you would still want to be close to the west loop.

My city house has some space between my neighbor, as far as city lots go but I really would like more distance.
after working in OBT for the last 4+ years, I *could* live in Elmhurst, Glenview, Lombard or Downer’s Grove if I had to. Basically it would have to be an older established suburb with a short metra ride into the city.
Not sure if I would still look for an updated old victorian or get one of those modern suburban mega houses.

I have always loved this building, and I daresay that most prospective buyers won’t care one way or the other about a 17-story building rising beside it in the near future. Most Lakeview denizens love the urban feel of the neighborhood and don’t mind living among thickets of high buildings at all.
Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind having a few where I’m living now.
The unit looks like an exceptionally good deal for the money, given current prices, and the surrounding neighborhood. The city delivers itself to your front door in this area. Only downtown or the near north side has more convenience or access to the delights of urban life. Where else in Lakeview or surrounding areas will you get anything like this much space for the money, in a apt this good-looking and close to retail, entertainment, and other urban amenities?
Taxes are not too bad, though I’d like to see the most recent tax bill. HOA is pretty much in line for this much space in a small association, though I don’t think this one includes heat.
