Brand New Renovation of 2-Bedroom in the Gold Coast for $399,500: 100 E. Walton

This 2-bedroom at 100 E. Walton in the Gold Coast came on the market in November 2025.

100 E. Walton was built in 1969 and has 260 units and attached garage parking.

It has 24/7 door staff, an exercise room, an on-site engineer, a party room, a roof top outdoor pool, and a sundeck.

This listing says it has had a “brand-new” renovation and is move-in ready.

It has been renovated from “top to bottom.”

The unit is a corner unit with east and south views windows. The listing says it has “partial” lake views. Both bedrooms also have windows.

It has recessed and accent lighting, all- new flooring (luxury vinyl?), new doors and baseboards and upgraded plumbing.

The kitchen is brand-new with white custom cabinets, marble countertops with matching backsplash, a marble peninsula with seating, and white high end Cafe appliances. It has also been opened to the living room now.

The living room has a designer framed electric fireplace with wood accents.

The second bedroom has a 3-panel sliding door so that it can be used as a guest room or office. It doesn’t appear to have a closet but it does have windows.

This unit has the features that buyers look for including washer/dryer in the unit, central air, and parking is available in the building and nearby.

This building is near the Gold Coast shopping scene including Oak Street and Rush, as well as the Mag Mile. The listing says it’s “steps” from Oak Street Beach, it’s dining, nightlife and cafes.

It’s near numerous bus lines.

Bought in August 2025 for $223,000, it has come back on the market fully renovated at $399,500.

Buyers love “new.”

With no new high rise buildings getting built downtown right now, is a renovated unit the best a buyer can do?

Ramona Antonesi at @properties Christie’s has the listing. See the pictures and floor plan here.

  1. the design choices are just all wrong. this is cheesy modern from 8 years ago.

  2. I get what they were trying to do with the reno but it doesn’t really work for this space or building, imo.

  3. Does the quartz in the kitchen just photograph that poorly, or does it really look that weird?

It’s not camera/lighting as the quartz on the fireplace wall and bathroom both look much better (still do not like).

  4. This building puzzles me. What was the original architect thinking, making the windows slits? It makes the units feel like prison cells.

  5. Second ‘bedroom’ has no closet, most like an office/den.

The party room and fitness center look like trash. The pool has solid view but looks meh too.

With a $1,110 HOA for very limited view, this is overpriced to me.
