Crib Chatter on Vacation Thru Oct 15

It’s time for a break so I’m taking off until Oct 16. Since it’s hurricane season, I will not be in the Caribbean on a beach this time. Alas.

But it’s a big world, so I’m going out to explore it.

Please be nice to each other while I’m gone.

This is a really interesting housing market. We’ll be chattering about it when I get back. Fingers crossed that more properties come on the market, though. It is slim pickings.

  1. Sabrina riddle me this–on Redfin it keeps defaulting to an interest rate of 5.5% for calculating the monthly payment. But the average mortgage rates are over 8%–why the difference? 😀

    They’re not over 8%. The average 30 year is about 7.6%. But it depends on your credit score etc. Some may be getting over 8% quotes.

    My Redfin just defaulted to 8.13%. But I’ve been using the calculator in recent weeks so it would know to update it on mine. If you haven’t signed into Redfin and/or used the calculator in recent weeks, it probably just defaults to whenever you last used it.
