Do New Appliances and Counters Matter? 330 S. Michigan
We chattered in March 2008 about Unit #2002 in 330 S. Michigan in the Loop with its unique skylights in the livingroom.
It is still on the market and has had some renovations done and furniture re-arranged.
It has also been reduced by $14,010.

Paint the walls!!!!!!!Those light blue walls are terrible!!!!
My guess is that the kitchen update money would have been better spent on a price reduction. Also, I don’t see the VHT watermark on the photos and they don’t look that great. The least they could do is spring for the professional photos.
Aleks – When this unit was first posted I commented on how horrible the decor and dated furniture was…didn’t show well at all from the photos…and I got “in trouble” for not being more diplomatic! LOL Oh well. Looks like the owners must have read my post and made some much needed changes albeit the colors on the walls need changing ASAP too…
wow the colors are distracting.
i can’t even notice they got new appliances.
ick
Decluttering the living room seems useful, but now it has yet another generic granite and steel kitchen. Losing the boombox was a good choice — probably should have removed the phone too. And leaving the non-chrome toaster out in the all-stainless kitchen seems like a faux pas.
the oven and microwave seem very odd to be placed in the wall like that with no cabinetry around it. not sure why they wouldnt put the oven under the cook top with the microwave/hood above.
they should have painted it white and reduced the price another $5k.
I’m pretty much sick of stainless.
Oh – where to start. As some have mentioned, if they would have left it alone then fine – lower the price – let someone else gut it.
But this is kinda like putting fancy rims on a Pinto.
First-PICK A THEME! Are we French County(cabinet doors, plants, furniture) or are we mid 90’s loft(burnt orange walls, floating phone- I bet they have a Sharper Image 5 disc CD player mounted on a wall somewhere, I just feel it.
Then, why in the world would you not do a muti-level counter with an overhang for stools. Or even an counter level overhang. This is that standard upgrade on the cheap with no thought put into it just to sell job. Good Luck – LOOSE THE ORANGE!
