  1. best of luck to the seller, lots of external obsolescence here in addition to not much in the way of updates.

It is really too bad that the developers that own those homes to the west chose to keep it section 8, the 30 year lease was up and they could have done the neighborhood a favor and tore them all down and built something amazing… instead they’re wasting 50 million bucks rehabbing those slums

  2. The place seems well kept, but is looking a little long in the tooth for a property in this price range. The space is nice though. Large rooms. Even great room is huge. Legit 3 bedroom.

I’m sure being right across from the EL tracks doesn’t help despite nice city views.

  3. Another one of those “Open Floorplan” houses. The more I look at these, the more I think this has to be a fad. Kitchen right in the living room, food smells will easily waft over to living area. “separation” of spaces just based on area rugs and placement of furniture. very lousy.

  4. I wonder what’s so special about the foyer chandelier…

  5. This will only sell to someone who doesn’t know the neighborhood well. A friend had an office about half a block away, at Schiller and Orleans. The crime rate, really crime wave, coming out of the nearby Marshall Field Apartments was unbelievable. Parked cars were broken into constantly. On the street, I was asked if I wanted to buy stolen electronics numerous times.

If the crime rate is a concern, this is not a good place to live.
