I like this place as well. Not too sure about the location though. I’m not talking about crime or anything, but it doesn’t seem to be that close to transportation into the loop.
Yeah I think I’d rather swallow a bullet than rely on the Chicago bus to get me back and forth from work.
I live further West than this. On a very good day I’m sitting at my cube with coffee in 25 mins. On a bad day, 45 mins. I’d say most days it’s about a 30-35 mins, bus to train to work.
That’s if you are on a 9-5 schedule. Night shift will be worse because of the CTA cutbacks but I doubt most night shift workers are buying 500K homes.
Long time reader, first time commenting. I looked at this place a while back. It really shines and the windows are nicer than they seem – the private front entrance and “english garden” front patio are lovely.
but i’ll tell ya what i didn’t like: the downstairs bedroom area is not laid out well for more than one person. the two rooms are combined into one, and you have to go through one to get to the other. plus, the bathrooms are a little too slick.
this home is perfect for a single person that needs a lot of room and many rooms. the lower-level arrangement takes this home out of consideration for a lot of potential consumers. and i agree about the location – it’s just meh.
it’s okay –
pros: curb appeal, low taxes/association fee, nice sized living room.
cons: Glass block (sorry does anyone think looks good anywhere!?! yuck), the fireplace is blah, but the biggest con is the kitchen just too small for a 3br…that’s about how big our kitchen is now and with two people it’s tight. I can’t imagine a family with a kid or two adequately functioning in that kitchen. And that bathroom…it might be meant to look expensive but it looks like a giant iceblock.. BRRRR. PS what’s with the floor to ceiling mirror behind the sink?
