Much better than the loft from yesterday in both price and style. This one just seems like it has finishes of similar quality and 200k less?!?! But even without that, I think you could be cashflow positive on this and that is really what matters.
Like most 2bed lofts these days, it’s basically a 1+. Tiny 2nd bedroom and tiny kitchen. For an authentic loft building, to me there is really nothing unique about this except the concrete pillar’s in the kitchen and bath.
Decent location, ok building, but small unit. I think that it should have sold at this price so I am wondering what else is wrong. Perhaps it is just too tiny. It appears that the LR DR Kitchen combo is not generous in size. What is across from the couch? Is there a place for a TV + the dining room table and chairs? If not then perhaps the small size is the real culprit.
Bedrooms are small as well.
When this building was office lofts I was in several of them. It is nice to see what it looks like now.
Seems like a decent price, but a tight space. Good location though and included parking is appreciated for once!
I remember 2/2 lofts w/ parking in Bucktown being $300k in 2007/2008.
I don’t understand the black appliances–even the counter is white and the walls….just to randomly make appliances black is odd. All you would have to do is put stainless appliances to update the whole place. Even if you bought them used is better than these black appliances.
Actually, I think black appliances are making a comeback.

It’s not fantastic, and it’s in a blah-average location close to Ashland, not Damen. Nothing wrong with this place, but it is a commodity.
i’m curious if they removed the tv from the living room for staging purposes. looks odd to have a tv stand with speakers in place but a picture there instead.
Why black appliances? So they won’t show the dirt? (The popular excuse given by colorphobic fashionistas.)
I suppose we’ll nevee see an avocado revival, but I wish the bronze, almond and harvest gold appliances of yore would find favor again. Kitchens today are so…darn…borning, color-wise.
But how many starving WP/BT hipster/artist types can afford this anyway?
The way to inject color to a kitchen is not having avocado color appliances (that might make a cool retro look) but rather have colored cabinets with fitted appliances. The state of kitchens even in so called high end units in Chicago is sad to say the least.

Colored cabinets are stupid. And white ones are the worst as they really show dirt and marks. I’d say wood cabinets with fitted appliances is the way to go. Colored cabinets look cheap as heck to me even if it is an in vogue trend currently pitched to the masses.
Not sure on black appliance comeback…

Some design ideas and trend predictions from the professionals. Maybe the Lowes in Woodstock got a run of close out black appliances. I agree that an unusual color range and fridge will not age well. Remember when sportscars were highlighter yellow a few years ago. Not so cool today eh… Black red and silver will never go out of style on sportscars. The stainless, black, or white look will all likely have a place for a long time to come in kitchens across America. The aqua blue, cobalt, fire engine red, and/ or pink ones will come and go like the three button suit coat.
