Get a 3-Bedroom Condo for the Price of a 2-Bedroom: 3933 N. Marshfield in North Center
This 3-bedroom duplex down unit at 3933 N. Marshfield in North Center just came on the market as a short sale.
It is listed for $185,000 under the 2007 purchase price.
There are no interior pictures, unfortunately, but the listing says the kitchen has cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances.
The master bathroom is natural stone.
2 of the 3 bedrooms are in the lower level along with a large 32×17 family room.
There is 2-car tandem parking.
The unit has central air but there is no washer/dryer listed as being in the unit (though Unit #2N directly above it, which is available to rent, has one in the unit).
This 3-bedroom is listed for the price of many 2-bedrooms in the neighborhood. Is this a deal?
Marc Shudnow at Re/Max 1st Class has the listing. See the listing and exterior picture here.

hard to fathom how someone paid 630 for this – truly bubblicious. i’d guess it would rent for around 2500 or so. it is in blaine, though (surprised they don’t mention that in the listing. as mentioned about a crib chattered place a couple years ago, this one is also stumbling distance to diner grill – what’s their coronary-on-a-plate called? the slinger?
2/3 bedrooms and your “family” room are all in the basement, no thanks
this unit is one of the best examples condos that would never have existed if it weren’t for the bubble days. Its true in this case that the rising tide lifts all boats. Same for the sucker that bought this gold-clad dingy.
@ roma
Yes a slinger is correct. I don’t know how I managed to eat those.
Ahh the post-college days.
North Center is ALL west of Ravenswood. This is Lakeview (or Lake View). Or South Graceland West. Or something. But definitely not North Center.
“hard to fathom how someone paid 630 for this”
Hard to fathom how someone paid $544 for it, too. But that person made $50k+ for owning it for 15 months, so it worked out for them.
“SS APPL, & MICRO VENT”
So, no *functional* kitchen ventilation. Awesome.
Roma: it is indeed the slinger, and you get a certificate for finishing.
“you get a certificate for finishing”
Grease-stained, presumably.
with these prices for so-so props in green zone area’s; south loop props will look more appealing
