Sorry I don’t have a picture but the shelter-in-place prohibits me from driving around for non-essential purposes.

I can’t tell when they converted it to condos as the only sale was in 2017, but it appears it might have been converted in 2007-2009 housing bubble era. (Were they rented out originally?)
The listing says this building is in a historic landmark district.

I love it and more or less everything in it too. This may be a first for a CC posting. I would have to dig in to why they want out after less than three years though and I am not sure that the price appreciation is warranted but if this unit were in LP it would certainly be in the $1MM ball park.

My first guess with anything like that in greater Hyde Park is that it was someone associated with UC who came from a more expensive place, and now is either (1) moving on to another school, or (2) realized that they want to live either closer to/further from campus.

You should log in to RF, and look at the old pix. The “appreciation” is warranted–it’s definitely $100k+ nicer than before. The question is more whether they overpaid.

The TV over the Fireplace looks really bad here. With the historic district, wonder if they replaced the originals?
HOA seems high, is there a common RTU for the building?
Property taxes seem low, no permit on the renovation?
If they must watch their tv above the fireplace and at that height, they should have paid a little extra to whoever did the (otherwise nice looking) shelves/fireplace “wood” work to enclose it. My inlaws had a veneer wall installed in their condo, and in the middle there are two doors that pop open to reveal a big tv (that can come out a bit). Surprised more people don’t do it.
