Live Two Doors Down from Pequod’s: 2211 N. Clybourn in Lincoln Park
Do you dream about pizza at Pequod’s?
Do you wish you had Starbucks, Potbelly’s and a major movie theater all within a block of where you live?
This 2-bedroom duplex up at 2211 N. Clybourn in Lincoln Park is for you.
The unit is in short sale and is listed for $15,000 under the 2007 purchase price.
At 1400 square feet, the living/dining and second bedroom is on the main floor.
It duplexes up into a huge loft like master bedroom with an exposed wood beamed ceiling, exposed brick and a brand new master bathroom.
The kitchen has white cabinets and stainless steel appliances.
There are 2 woodburning fireplaces, including one in the master bedroom, and a private rooftop deck.
It has central air and washer/dryer in the unit, but I don’t see anything in the listing about parking.
Is this even much of a steal at this price?
Thomas Moran at Prudential Rubloff has the listing. See the pictures here.

Pequod’s is actually the best thin-crust
and the wings are the best in the city.
This is a nice place, Like the cool attic.
This property would be bad for my waistline
Actually I think Pequod’s is the best Deep Dish in the city. As for the unit – the low ceilings scare me.
Would NEVER buy a condo over a restaurant (think: roaches, cooking smells, etc). This has to eliminate a large pool of buyers, especially now when there is so much to choose from.

the question marks were supposed to be the alt+251 checkmark but it didn’t work. oh well.
I’m not sure who this makes sense for to own….but I think this would be an awesome rental. I would have been all over this place in my early/mid 20’s
Filippo’s is not to be underestimated in its own right. That said I see a Pequod’s order in my future.
HD: I’m impressed with your knowledge of ASCII
It is the best deep dish in the city, agreed!
alt +251 = ?
I learned something new today, thanks HD
when I think of Clybourn I do not think residence, but killer view from the roofdeck
It really is a checkmark…the portal (or whatever) turns it into a ?
Ugly. Rent to a DePaul student
Another + – noise complaints would have to be low due to business below.
I think Clybourn is a tough sell. Surprised that there has been only one negative comment here to that effect. Maybe I’m too negative on it.
I lived on Clybourn near Sheffield and it wasn’t too bad. However, this place is a little ways north of there. Where I was we had both the red and brown line stops in walking distance. This location does not have access to much public transportation into the city and there aren’t many buses that run on Clybourn. I think that would certainly be a detriment to this place. Also, if you’re going to drive in this area because of lack of public transit, Clybourn can become very congested in this stretch.
Love that pizza even at the original location up in Morton Grove back in my high school days. Wonder if that location still exists. The long haired owner of this location is the man. Don’t know his name but he always treats his customers well and makes that great deep dish burnt crust pizza that I love.
Hate the listing featured in this thread. I’ll stick with carry out instead of living on this street.
Never had this pizza but, as a result of this thread, I’ll give it a whirl this weekend.
anonny – how did you like the zaaa?
Pequod’s deep-dish pizza is the best! And as of a few months ago, the Morton Grove location is still there. I used to work near there and loved the lunch deal. I do not love their pizza enough to make me want to live above another restaurant near it though. As others have said, roaches, cooking smells, etc.. are a deal-breaker. Traffic here is pretty congested – I ride my bike through here a few times a week and it’s crazy.
There is something fishy about this area. There are a lot of vehicle break ins around here. I see smashed windows all the time. I wonder if it has to do with the Salvation Army Rehab center across the street?
If this had parking and was on Janssen instead of Clybourn, we might be talking. However, this stretch of Clybourn is a traffic nightmare and easy commuting options are somewhat lacking (Ashland bus to one of the lines, decent hike to Clybourn Metra, pretty far to Fullerton El stop). Lots of great entertainment/restaurants around. Pequod’s is my favorite pizza in the city!
“anonny – how did you like the zaaa?”
Didn’t make it in over the weekend, but I intend to try it this week.
“I wonder if it has to do with the Salvation Army Rehab center across the street?”
Much more likely the public housing at Ash/Full/Cly.
This is now a foreclosure with an ask price of 206k.
This building is a mess. It should have stayed apartments. Would anyone really want to live over a restaurant in the long term? Maybe a college student would find this livable for a year, but like the garden apartment from earlier today, I think the market outside of investors is very small.
