  2. Small for a 3 bedroom in an iffy area (right off Congress) – I’d say not a dime over $300k

  4. “right off Congress”

At least it’s the southwest corner, so it’s not right on top of the Ike. If something good comes out of the Old PO (doubt it, at least anytime soon), then this could turn into an okay spot. But, yeah, right now it sorta sux.

  6. This location is kinda a dead zone. I-290 cuts it off from the loop and I-90/94 cutas it off from the west loop. To the east is the empty old post office and to the south is nothing but light industry and warehouse (plus the domestic violence court- that a depressing site to wake up to).

There nothing else right there except a mediocre Holiday Inn and the Grey Hound station.

There is a Blue line stop (clinton) a few yards away.

  7. It’s not for me, but it could be close to work for many people. You get two parking spots and there are stores nearby (whole foods, dominicks, etc).

Like I say, not for me, but the location could work for some people.

  8. Um, they could use a smidge of help re: staging. The location has always struck me as a “why would someone WANT to live there” sort of building, but I guess CK has a point – if you’re a workaholic in the Loop, that might be a nice easy location for someone.
I also wonder why the assessments are so high…

  9. Aurelios pizza is close by, they have a pretty good thin crust. Also there is a strip club just south on clinton, or was. A couple blocks north is Dylans bar and grill which is ok. If you work in the loop this spot wouldnt be bad. There is nobody around on weekends.

  10. I think the building has had special assesments for tuckpointing. It was a crummy office building in the mid 90s. Turned into condos in ’01 or so.
