Because you want to pay extra for an exterior that matches your thermador range? Or is the blue light the draw?

Unless that dishwasher self loads and unloads there is no reason to pay 1-2 months mortgage for it.
I have that Bosch Dishwasher and I don’t really like it… no buttons on the front is annoying if you want to stop it after starting you can’t, and it doesn’t have any ‘dry’ setting at all so your dishes are always wet when they’re done

Kitchenaid has a 39 dBa model that’s under a grand. GE has one at 39, too, but it’s over $1500.

Let them sit for ~30 minutes after the cycle ends. Or do you feel a compulsion to unload the second it beeps?
None of the other models have the blue light or the LED beam!

There is something wrong with your DW, then. Have you cleaned the filter in the bottom? Only stuff that stays wet is the occasional plastic ware, and if there are drips from said plastic ware.
yeah its just the plastic and the occasional puddle that builds up on stuff, on the rest of the stuff it still takes at least a few hours to dry off completely I think, Its brand new so I doubt its busted
The Germans think you shouldn’t use plastic dishes. That is all.

Longtime lurker here. I think this place is fairly well appointed–not my taste but a chacun a son gout–yet I genuinely can’t understand the appeal of living in this building. The views, maybe. The mixed and minor cachet of being in the only high-rise east of LSD? You have the horror of Navy Pier at your doorstep. And if you want to walk anywhere, the scenery is just bleak. (And “anywhere” in Streeterville generally means a restaurant or bar swamped with tourists and transients.) Someone break it down for me…

Yeah, the jetdry (or finish rinse-aid, or whatever they changed the name to) helps *a lot*. If i ever run it when the reservoir is empty, nothing gets dry.

i have that bosch dw as well and no issues. the only thing that stays wet is the tupperware but it’s really not a big deal. as anon mentioned, it’s a must to use a rinse aid with bosch and miele.
I have a higher end Bosch and had a Miele. Both are practically silent when running which we like. However, neither clean dishes as well as the cheapo GE model we had when we first bought our house. It sounded like bolts being ground up in a garbage disposal when you ran it, but the dishes came out spotless and dry.
Interesting Russ. Complete opposite experience for me. Love Miele dish washer and love love the washing machine (I don’t have it in US though).

in 2013 we upgraded the appliances in our condo before we sold it – – we put in the top of the line Maytag in because we got a great deal on the appliance package – – roughly an $800 appliance. That was truly the best dishwasher I have ever used. Everything came out sparkling clean and bone dry. Then we bought a house and we re-did the kitchen. We decided to do panel ready appliances and go for the hidden appliance look – – which eliminates most of the common brand name appliances as options. We put in a more or less entry level Bosch, also roughly an $800 appliance.
Initially I missed the the Maytag! The Bosch is slightly quieter (both are very quiet) and the cleanliness is comparable but it is the opening the dishwasher to let everything dry with the Bosch that took me getting used to. I am told it is greener than the Maytag for this reason so at the end of the day I guess I am pretty happy with the Bosch – – and it sure does look sleek since it is hidden 🙂

why not leave the door closed. the residual heat from running the dw helps dry everything.
we typically run our bosch dw at night and when i open the door in the morning everything is bone dry.
Nope. Definitely always “humid” inside the Bosch. The leveling mechanism on that dishwasher cannot be beat though.

There is something wrong with your dishwasher. Have you removed and cleaned the filter?
Liz- you shouldn’t have that problem. Are you using a rinse aid such as Finish (jet dry)
@anon – – filter gets cleaned every two weeks (my parents actually had a Bosch that they didn’t clean the filter on for YEARS and it still sorta got the dishes cleaned. They were shocked (!!) when I showed them the filter!)

I never clean my dishwasher and it still cleans my dishes. It’s an old GE. I didn’t know dishwasher needed to be cleaned. My dream is to add a second or even a third dishwasher so I never need to unload dishes.
