Nearly 4 Years Later And Still Trying To Sell In Lakeview: 1030 W. Roscoe
We’ve chattered about this 4-bedroom single family home at 1030 W. Roscoe in Lakeview several times over the past few years.
See our March 2010 chatter here.
See our April 2012 chatter here.
It’s been listed as high as $699,000 but now seems stuck on the $499,000 level.
In April 2012 it was listed at $499,800 and has now been reduced to just $499,777.
If you recall, it was built in 1884 on a 25×100 lot.
3 of the 4 bedrooms are on the second floor with the fourth bedroom on the main level.
The kitchen has maple cabinets and white appliances.
The basement is also finished.
The house has central air and a 2 car garage.
Yes, that’s the brown line El running directly behind the house. But that hasn’t stopped other sales from happening quickly (even though on both the brown/red/purple El lines.)
What will it take to finally sell this house?
Ismael Perez at Exit Real Estate Partners still has the listing. See the pictures here (yes- they are the same pictures as before.)

I like the place, not the hood for me, but i like this place and dont think the price is that bad for location (just not for me).
One thing i cant stand is the 80?s wood paneled basements it irks me so bad. it always gives me the creepy Calvin Klien old perv commercial vibe
They are way off here. I’m thinking at least 4, dare I say 5, $23 price reductions from getting this thing on the right track.
325k BOONTASTICAL!!!!
“One thing i cant stand is the 80?s wood paneled basements it irks me so bad. ” What about 60’s or 70’s paneling? Is that OK?
When I want a 4 bedroom house for under $500k, I think of an ALL BRICK COUNTRY ESTATE WITH A SWEEPING LAWN AND MATURE TREES ON 5 ACRES!

Don’t miss the private pond!
ps: If the only two choices I had were this house and the on I linked, I’d try hard to find a job in Lake County.

see HD that how you make an apt comparison. Anon(ufo)’s has the 60’s theme all wrapped up in that mirrored dining room just like this lake view has with the wood paneling
” What about 60?s (paneling)….”
If it’s pre-hippie 60’s, then that mid-century modern stuff is really hot right now with designers. Hipsters want to live with furniture from the TV show era: My Three Sons and I Dream of Jeannie, etc. They’re paying incredible amounts for plastic furniture etc.
I hope it sells and doesn’t get torn down! I’m thinking $450 gets it done… The “recent renovations” seem like a problem — very low budget and not a very appealing aesthetic.
Anon,
You forgot to mention the Barrington property also has horse-riding trails. I would never consider a 4 BR under $500,000 without that amenity.
I’ll take it for the 1997 price.
“I’ll take it for the 1997 price.”
Which one?
Having half the photos postage stamp sized isn’t doing the home any favors…
How about some photos you can actually SEE, for starters.
