Own a Car in Bucktown? Have Your Own Garage: 2117 W. Canton
It’s hard enough to find a 1-bedroom condo in Bucktown with parking, let alone your own garage.
But this 1-bedroom plus den vintage unit at 2117 W. Canton has a prime Bucktown location and its own private garage space.
The unit is located on the top floor of a courtyard building only steps from Bucktown nightlife and the El stop.
It has a gas fireplace and french doors.
What is missing is the central air and the in-unit washer/dryer. The listing says there is laundry in the basement.
Amy Diamond at D’Aprile Realty has the listing. See the pictures here.

Couldn’t be more depressing.
Hmmm…I actually kind of like it for the price. Lack of CA and laundry would kill it for me, however — even more than CA, in-unit laundry is one of the key things that separate condos from apartments for me.
Still, doesn’t seem bad for the price — great location, and parking is key in that ‘hood.
Perfect for a young spinstress and 2 cats. And I even like Bucktown.
ok to make a random comparison here, i know, i know, two totally different type of buyers and demographics and such.
227k for a depressing one bedroom to live near Jon or go west down north ave and 299k for a SFH to live near groove?
So is parking or laundry/air more important? I would guess laundry/air since you cant live in a parking space. Looks like the success of this sale supports my opinion.
“227k for a depressing one bedroom to live near Jon or go west down north ave and 299k for a SFH to live near groove?”
Let’s not play Jon v. Groove.
Plus, how far west? Exactly.
The discerning buyer will say neither.
I’d rather live here than in Austin
“Plus, how far west? Exactly”
i was comparing it to the place in galewood
You really think that sunshiny little place is depressing? I think it’s adorable. A bit overpriced given the W/D and no central–but no more than about 10%, in my opinion. Especially if you like Bucktown–that handful of streets is really perfect. A quiet little oasis, but still stumbling distance from the Double Door.
“A quiet little oasis, but still stumbling distance from the Double Door.”
Quiet? Yea, if you think the blue line in your front yard is quiet.
I had avoided looking at this post and now I wish I had just kept ignoring it…depressing does not cover the feeling you would have every time the blue line went roaring past.
Glad it does have a garage as you would need to drive away from this place to maintain your sanity.
YUCK
I can’t understand why anyone would want to move to Bucktown / Wicker Park anymore. It made sense when it was priced less than Lincoln Park and Lakeview. But prices have been the same for the last few years, so what is the appeal? Even the South Loop has more advantages and really is cheaper than the north side neighborhoods.
but the south loop should fall more. then it will be a good deal.
Pete, the appeal is faux edginess. And maybe bt/wp is not quite as preppie yuppy. though I’ve spent no time there recently so maybe that has changed.
