I’d rather have more storage, not less, but it does have a more modern aesthetic as a result.
In 2020, there was also a wall of cabinets/storage in the living room. That has also been removed.
You could easily put a door through the closet for the off-dining-bedroom. Probably was a walk-through closet from the hall originally. What’s with the glass doors on the bedrooms?
Really dislike the open shelves if there isn’t a ton of other storage – plus things get grimy in kitchens.

Looks cool, shite if you actually cook. Also would guess that this place gets dustier than one with a conventional forced air system, hope you enjoy wiping everything down weekly

No vent hood = even more aerosolized grease to land on them.
Also enjoy the outlet directly over a burner, and the oven mitt(??) hooks on the wall also right over a burner.
Always hate the range right against a wall, but sometimes there isn’t a good alterntive without moving walls.
Yeah, the open shelving is a lot more work. It means more dusting.
It also takes away a lot of storage. I’m really not a fan, for myself. I’m always looking for MORE storage, not less. But if you never cook and don’t have a lot of pots and pans and things like a jello mold, then it wouldn’t be high on your list.
