The building facade is horrible, like Suburban Senior living and was expecting to see a shitty dated interior. Very pleasantly surprised at how nice this is, tho it’s not 1800 sf

The owners put a fair amount of money into this place and aren’t seeing any return (likely losing) money and owned for 8 years. According to shills, that’s unpossible

Lol, that would weigh less than trying to burglarize a flat screen tv. Put that safe in a shopping bag.
Ceiling look like they are only 8′. 1994 might have been right around the time when developers started moving to 9′ as the norm. older buildings like Water Tower condos, Hancock, and 132 E Delaware (above Four Seasons/Bloomingdale’s) were 80’s style with only 8′ ceilings.
With Division St. imploding with boredom, this location is less desirable today than it was in 1994.
This has nice outdoor space, I’ll admit. But I’d rather pay several hundred thousand less and have a high-floor corner unit at the Hancock. Same amount of space, but with a lot more amenities, too. But I’m a high-rise, view type. This unit here might be great for some people.
Not all Hancock units have 8′ ceilings, btw. I rent in the Hancock and my ceiling is nearly 9′. It depends on the floor. The penthouses have 13′ ceilings.
Would anyone actually cross shop a place with significant outdoor space and Hancock?
Outdoor space is a must for me, but this place looks too much like a suburban old folks home.
Outdoor Oasis means L-A-N-D. Land so one can garden, feel the dirt under one’s fingernails, watch the trees and perennials grow an establish themselves. Land with enough space for the now-established trees and perennials to provide privacy while one screws one’s significant other in privacy outdoors.
THAT’s an “outdoor oasis.” Pergolas need not apply.
Lauren, you’re right. I’m someone who’d never shop a place like this, and the person who wants this would never shop the Hancock. Blocks away, different worlds.

Once again HH proving he doesn’t live in Chicago and hasn’t even visited for a LONG time.
You honestly think that someone buying in the Whitney would “hang” at anything on Division Street???

No, but they would easily be willing to walk a little further south to Tavern on Rush, Hugos, etc. Or a little bit West to the lovely restaurants on Dearborn.
Division Street hasn’t been a “thing” for locals in at least 25 to 30 years. Maybe longer. Except for the Farmers Market on the weekends.
They ARE, however, building a nice new apartment building on the corner of Division and State which should spruce the block up quite a bit. And hopefully it gets some nice retail or restaurants in its base.
Bull. I ate brunch at Butch’s about a month ago. The NWC of State & Division has been demo’ed and more boring street retail is coming. Five faces is no more. PS Try the corned beef reuben egg rolls at Butch’s, they’re excellent.
