The Almost New Construction Albany Park Home Sells: 4846 N. Lawndale
There was a lot of chatter last March when we discussed this “almost new” home at 4846 N. Lawndale in Albany Park that had been renovated down to the foundation.
See our prior chatter and pictures here.
It was originally listed in March of 2008 for $624,900 and had had numerous price reductions by this spring.
Poster JPS guessed it would sell for around $400k and said “flame away.”
Who’s flaming now?

That kitchen is NSFW… I gagged a little scrolling down.
I remember this place. The epitome of fugly.
I think if they actually put some thought into it and did a tasteful rehab they could’ve easily got 100k more for this with little to no additional expense.
But I guess they learned the hard way if you make an architectural abortion the market is going to demand a discount.
I love the tiny windows!!!
Quite ugly. Reminds me of a new house on the southwest side. There were a lot of new 2-flats built on thw SW side near Midway in the 1990s, all with ugly brick and no character. They stand out like sore thumbs next to with stained glass windows and nice brickwork.
Look at google maps street view of 4728 S. Keeler, 60632 and you’ll see what I mean.
that kitchen is HORRIBLE! it looks like there might be a vent in the middle of the floor next to the stone wall. WTF?
wow…this is a travesty. This is the best (or worst) example that using high end materials does not necessarially result in a nice home.
This is like a caviar and peanutbutter sandwich. It may cost all for the materials but it tastes nasty.
The only thing that could possible make this kitchen look gaudier is some chrome. Maybe the new owner can install some chrome inlays into the floor to finsh pimpin’ this kitchen out.
Horrible, horrible, horrible
hey at least it is the good part of albany park, and thats all i have to say about that
