The Perfect Chicago View? A 1-Bedroom at 155 N. Harbor in Lakeshore East
This 1-bedroom in Harbor Point at 155 N. Harbor Drive in Lakeshore East came on the market in October 2016.
Harbor Point is one of the oldest buildings in what is now the Lakeshore East community.
Built in 1974, it is famously on the Lake Shore Drive curve with views south of the city and the lake.
It is a huge building, with 742 units.
Given its location, the building includes amenities like a full size market which is open until midnight.
There’s also a full size exercise room with a half court basketball court.
The building has a large indoor pool, hot tub, steam and saunas.
This unit has an open kitchen with modern cabinets and stainless steel appliances. I can’t tell from the listing what the counter tops are made out of.
It has a separate dining room and a half bath.
Most importantly it has the prime south and lake views.
There are wall cooling/heating units, which were common in buildings from this era, and an in-unit washer/dryer.
There is rental parking available in the building from $130 to $210 a month.
This unit has been on the market for 47 days, since late October, at $539,000.
Does this unit, with its south facing views, have one of the best views in all of Chicago?
Walter Stunard at Berkshire Hathaway KoenigRubloff has the listing. See the pictures here.

I’m surprised this isn’t selling.
It’s completely remodeled and has that “modern” look with the wood cabinets and the wide plank floors.
It also has the fantastic south facing views.
Find me an 08/09 or a 12/13 unit combo. That would be pretty cool space. This unit surprised me at how modern it looks for a 70s era building.
What are the big round cement things in the living room? That would bug me.
It’s the location and price and many just prefer a newer building.
Maybe because its almost 600k and you don’t even get a parking space or 2 full bathrooms and bedrooms? I also think the sqfootage is inflated quite a bit with that curved living room it doesn’t even look like you could put a decent sized couch in there
Also why did they have to make this building look so similar to lake point tower… I always get the two confused!
“What are the big round cement things in the living room?”
Is that a serious question?
