I saw the exterior of this place and though it would be beautiful inside, but there is no charm.
The exterior is gorgeous and the interior looks like a 1999-era cinderblock townhouse. A cheap 1999-era cinderblock townhouse. In Palatine.
Okay, that’s overly harsh, but the exterior sets expectations that the interior does not come close to meeting.

this place looks to be digitally staged. someone actually chose to render those in there.
The interior is a complete let down compared to the exterior. You just expect some elegantly appointed home on probably the most prestigious street and block in Chicago and you open then you open the door….
This listing makes one feel like a rat in a cage, despite all one’s rage.

That $800,000 2005 price will be tough to meet for resale, because this unit has zero charm. No views (service courts don’t count). Tight room sizes (no luxury feel whatsoever). Cheap finishes, with exception of kitchen appliances. Livingroom has one small window? Hamster cage for someone seeking upscale Astor St address.
needs 150k in interior renovations….as everyone has mentioned, the outside is beautiful and the inside is ugh…
Not enough windows or natural light. Why live in this hood anymore? The Lyric Opera is absurdifying all its operas, making them “boldly contemporary”, using chicancery and changing all the precepts of the original art, and even deliberately falsifying translations of the librettos on the subtitles.
This hood is an ersatz version of what it once stood for. It’s either for suckers or people who are impostors, like the said Lyric homos who are ideologically killing Western art. Who actually has the intelligence to live in this hood anymore? A: nobody.
They ought to sell the Archbishops mansion to some occultists, or Christie Hefner Marovitiz, or some big donor to Emily’s List. There is no class in this hood. “Chaz” proves my point about it all, the decline.
I guess the Racquet Club is still hanging in there, lol.
