Yes I absolutely WOULD spring for something like this if I had the money. You’d better have a lot of money to support something like this.
It’s just beautiful, and totally classic.
I’d have to have a personal net worth of at least $30M to feel comfortable, though, because the kind of jobs that support something like this are rare and hard to replace.
Doubt the co-op board would let in a poor person with only a NW of 30 million to buy this place…
At almost $1100/ft I think there are better options in the city.

after 4 months you probably should drop the price especially if you are competing with a unit one floor up.
I don’t even look at these listings. What’s the point? The .01% of people that can afford it can live in such excess, just like anywhere else, in whatever style they choose.
“If I were rich?” – I would live modestly and invest the rest in something smarter; something that doesn’t cost $131,790 year in just property taxes and assessments.
