Your New Urban Oasis: A Bucktown 2-Bedroom with W/D for $300,000: 2116 W. North

This 2-bedroom at 2116 W. North in Bucktown (but johnc would say Wicker Park) came on the market in November 2024.

The agent lists it in West Town and then never says if it’s in Bucktown or Wicker Park in the listing description.

Built in 1911, this courtyard complex has 41 units. There’s no parking or amenities.

The listing calls it your “new urban oasis.”

It doesn’t have much of its original vintage features but it does have hardwood floors throughout and a white brick gas fireplace in the living room.

The kitchen has white cabinets and a tile backsplash.

The listing calls the primary bedroom a “peaceful haven.”

There’s one bathroom.

The unit has a 21×8 balcony/terrace off the kitchen.

It has some of the features buyers look for including central air, washer/dryer in the unit but no parking. However, this complex is near multiple bus lines and the Blue line stop at Damen.

This building is near all the shops and restaurants on Milwaukee and Damen in Wicker Park and Bucktown.

The listing says to “embrace the vibrant lifestyle.”

Listed at $300,000, is this a better deal than renting?

Benyamin Lalez and Mark Buckner at Compass have the listing. See the pictures and floor plan here.

Or see it at the Open House this weekend on Saturday, November 23 or Sunday November 24 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

  1. Budget for new fridge and d/w–12+ years old and cheap when purchased. Probably w/d too.

Bedroom with no closet and sliding door isn’t ideal.

    Bathroom is frustratingly tiny.

How much nonsense happens in that alley?

I like it! Suspect it is u/c before TG.

  2. Sabrina, stop being party to a lie. Decidedly not Bucktown. I appreciate your shout out to the inevitable, though.

  3. $300,000 for a small apartment on North Avenue? Not really enticing.
