  1. Oh, well. 2nd stage of foreclosure and this seller still doesn’t get a clue.

It appears they refinanced heavily to make all the “improvements” on this fugly place. I guess they are so overwhelmed with the utter inevitability of a monster loss, that they figure they might as well let it foreclose as drop the price to a number within the pale of reason.

You’d have to get this place very cheaply in order to justify what you’d have to spend to undo their ugly and inappropriate “upgrades”.

  2. Rich person loses shirt over ugly house. LOL. Thats what they get for thinking this abomination is worth upwards of 2 mill.

900k tops, pick up that padded envelope next time at Kinkos cuz these keys are being mailed in!

That’s….really unattractive. Thank goodness for skylights; it looks like it would be quite dark inside otherwise.

  6. It’s such an eyesore that I wonder how the reno plans ever passed through review. I also wonder how the HOA permitted this. If I were an owner in this complex, I would have exerted myself to blackball the plans and prevent this horrible “Tuscan” reno.

  7. I had to look at the front photo several times. Thought it was a roadside motel.

  8. Exactly. Couldn’t put my finger on it. One of the few times I go back and relook at pics but this thing is awful. Its like a horror movie hotel.

  10. I like it! Oddball properties like this give the city character. Just not $2 million worth unfortunately (for the owners).

  11. I can find hundreds of “oddball” properties in this city that lend it a lot more character than this and have way more going for them in appearance, features, and amenities, for way less money, than this sad place.

Maybe the seller should just make this place look really weird, lend some REAL character to the complex. I mean, it’s hard to imagine it getting any uglier- might as well have some fun with it. If the neighbors don’t object to a reno job like this that is so out of sync with the architecture of the complex, why not cover the place with fake fur and make the upstairs windows look like eyes, or something. Or cover it with red sequins. Have some fun with it, because you couldn’t make it much uglier than it already is.

    Laura,
If I’m not mistaken, these are very early modern-era townhouses (late 50s, I think) so there is no HOA; they’re fee simple. The only approvals for the plans would need to come from the city departments of zoning and buildings.

  13. c’mon. It already looks like two burnt orange trailers stacked on top of each other. if it can’t “get any uglier”, I’d say it’s satisfied its oddball quotient.

seems pretty nice on the inside.

  14. $2 million and the living room doesn’t even have windows? Well, maybe if you count the front door tucked back behind the stairway…

  15. Remember also that there’s a 151/156/143/77/134 bus stop right outside the door. And since the 151 runs owl and since some of the bedrooms (including the master) are in the front, all you’ll hear is “Route 151: Sheridan to Clark and Devon” the whole night through.

  17. I happened to be near this today; they’ve built up what was once a back yard or garden into this monstrosity. I’m sure their neighbors must hate them for ruining their yard space.
