We chattered about this 2-bedroom duplex at 552 W. Armitage in Lincoln Park several times.

See our August 2009 chatter and pictures here.

The unit had a good location close to Lincoln Park, Old Town and the shops and restaurants on Armitage.

It had a townhouse feel with the two bedrooms on the second floor. The property also had central air and a deeded parking space.

It recently sold for $17,500 under the 2004 purchase price.

  1. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Even though the building does front Armitage, it’s setback enough to make it more acceptable.

Plus it has parking (though uncovered) and is in a really nice part of LP. Yeah, the 60s-tastic urban redevelopment architecture is not necessarily wonderful, it’s not horrible either – look at it as living is a piece of urban development history.

I would be concerned about sufficient storage – this place is likely slab on grade construction and probably has limited storage in the unit.

  3. Well I guess people will live anywhere to say they live in Lincoln Park… here is a great example, a craptastic 800sqft duplex goes for more than almost everyone expected.
