A Loft With Its Own Private Garage Returns: 1757 W. Altgeld in Lincoln Park

We last chattered about this 2-bedrooms loft with its own private entrance and garage at 1757 W. Altgeld in Lincoln Park in January 2010.

See our January 2010 chatter and pictures here.

Without the snow, and with the ivy and lush greenery of the front garden, this property looks like a completely different building. (It also had a different address in January- which is why I couldn’t find any prior sales information.)

Priced just $2,000 under the January list price, the loft still has 12 foot ceilings and a wall of windows.

It has a front terrace off the living room.

The listing also says that the master bedroom is 95% enclosed.

The kitchen is updated with cherry cabinets, granite counter tops and Subzero and Miele stainless steel appliances.

  1. MG to the rescue?

Can Super Mario overcome the death of the tax credit coupon, AND the stigma of the Clybourn Corridor, to sell what is in many ways a pretty cool property?

At any rate, always interesting to me how different agents market the same properties. New pics do a better job of showing off the space of the place, and I agree w/Sabrina the greenery gives it some nice “life,” but they do seem strangely dark (although the old ones were overexposed and too bright).

I would like to know what’s included in that Assoc. fee though. . .

  3. OMG with this huge discount, I almost fell out of my chair. WHOA discount!!!

I think the listing agent/seller forgot another zero in that price reduction…

  4. I think it’s a cute place though for the price (or a bit less), am I wrong? I like the unique layout and it does have a semi-private feel to it that a condo lacks.
