A Remodeled 1-Bedroom for $176,000 at 320 W. Oakdale in East Lakeview

This 1-bedroom at 320 W. Oakdale in East Lakeview came on the market in May 2021.

320 W. Oakdale was designed by Milton Schwartz in 1956 and has 51 units and covered parking.

The listing says this unit has been a total remodel.

It says it has “never been lived in.”

The kitchen has custom white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a white tile backsplash.

It looks like there is a white sliding door into the bedroom.

There is a Carrera white marble bathroom.

The unit has central air but there is no washer/dryer in the unit and coin laundry in the building.

The listing says there is parking next door.

Originally listed in May 2021 for $169,000, it went under contract in May but fell out and returned to the market at $7,000 higher, at $176,000.

We have chattered about the larger units in this building in the past.

Would this property make a good in-town?

Alexandra Van Ginkel at Premier Relocation has the listing. See the pictures here.

  1. This place would suck as an intown (Unless you were a doc that needed a crashpad). Renting a suite at a nice hotel would be a much better option

Overall the unit is not bad (Need to fill in the missing trim piece). Assessments approaching P&I is not a good thing from a return stand point.

This building has some excellent units (IMO). 1203 is really outstanding IMO.

  2. The penthouse here was sold in 2019 and at the time needed a bit of updating. But that said I can only imagine how amazing it is today.

  8. Nice enough for the price, but I would have gone more contemporary/modern than transitional considering building architecture. Assessments aren’t too bad for the age.

I am excited to see the penthouse–it could be amazing.

  10. Building would have potential with higher ceilings, especially that penthouse.

  12. I love this building but hate how most of the units seem to stare right into the building next door.
