Completely Renovated 2/2 with Lincoln Park Views for $569,900: 2100 N. Lincoln Park West

This 2-bedroom in The Pierre at 2100 N. Lincoln Park West in East Lincoln Park came on the market in July 2023.

The Pierre was built in 1919 and has 102 units and valet parking. It’s a full amenity building with a doorman, an outdoor heated pool, racquetball/basketball courts, an exercise room, clubhouse and a sundeck with grills.

The listing says this unit has been “completely renovated” and every room has an east view over Lincoln Park and the lake. None of its vintage features remain.

It has wide plank hardwood floors in the living/dining and kitchen. There’s a built-in entertainment center in the living room.

The kitchen has gray wood cabinets, what looks like stone counter tops, “top of the line appliances” including a double oven and a beverage refrigerator.

The primary bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a steam shower with radiant floors and a built-in makeup area.

Both bedrooms have carpet.

The second bathroom also has a walk-in-shower. There doesn’t appear to be a tub in the unit.

It has some of the features buyers look for including central air, a Miele washer/dryer in the unit, and garage parking is available for rent in the building.

The Pierre is across the street from Lincoln Park, near the zoo, and the restaurants of East Lincoln Park and Old Town. There are multiple bus lines nearby.

It has listed at $569,900, which is $39,900 more than the December 2020 sales price of $530,000.

Buyers love “new.”

Will this unit sell quickly?

Art Collazo at Jameson Sotheby’s has the listing. See the pictures and floor plan here.

  1. We looked at a unit in this building. I think it was a funky duplex of some kind with outdoor space? Anyways, while this unit seems a little cramped and charmless compared to yesterday’s ELV unit, I think this will (and should) sell quicker than that one. Views, better amenities and location, quiet.

  2. 10CN also available for $520k, but somehow only 1300 sf with an identical floorplan:

    Same owner since 1981(!!)–paid $153k. +CPI = … $508k.

  3. Attached parking for rent is key. Location is great. Renovation is tasteful. This should sell soon.

10CN kept the wall separating the living and dining rooms. Do people like it removed or do they like having some separation and the ability to have built-ins (on both sides)? A lot more shelving and extra cabinets.

But, 6CN that is featured, has built out the closet in the hallway with the double oven, more kitchen cabinets, the beverage refrigerator. Is this good or bad? Does this mean there is no coat closet for the unit now? Will buyers care?

    1981? Wow.

  7. Another forgettable unit in this forgettable building. If it once had any vintage charm (the building) I have yet to see any unit reflecting that. Either the building was built cheaply back in the day, or some 1950’s developer got ahold of it and stripped all the charm away.

Sometimes it would be better to tear down and start again, and the Pierre fits that description.

  8. I’m feeling a bit under the weather so there won’t be a new crib tomorrow. Sorry. I’ve got to get some sleep.
