Get a West Lakeview Duplex 2/2 Loft with Parking for $560,000: 1318 W. George

This 2 bedroom loft at 1318 W. George in West Lakeview came on the market in July 2019.

I don’t know when the building was constructed but it was converted into lofts into 7 lofts and attached heated garage parking in 1996.

It has an elevator and a shared patio.

This loft is a duplex up loft with 18 foot ceilings and exposed brick.

It has south facing windows in the living/dining and kitchen.

The kitchen has maple cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a granite island.

The master bedroom is on the main floor, and has a window. It has an en suite bath with a spa tub and stand-up shower.

There’s a loft with a second bedroom, and office and a family room on the second floor.

It has central air, washer/dryer in the unit and a heated garage space is included.

The listing says it’s in the Burley school district.

Listed in July 2019 at $580,000, it’s been reduced $20,000 to $560,000.

At 2,000 square feet, is this a deal for the neighborhood?

  1. Lovely neighborhood. Good price for the footage. 50k-100k in renovations could really make this unit something special.

  2. The ceilings look about 7′, possible targeting the underserved little person market

Other than that its a POS

  3. Does the school district really matter for a unit like this? You aren’t going to raise a family in this. Even as a guest bed the second bed stinks – – bathroom is downstairs and you have a “window” overlooking your living room.
