Lovely place and I do with builders would be a little more creative architecturally. However, the size of this home just seems obnoxious. Maybe it is the brick fence. As JohnnyU said above, the fence makes the home looks like it is a cartel drug lord’s Chicago getaway.

Until today, I didn’t know that I wanted a balcony in my shower. Now, it’s all I can think about.
I don’t care for the exterior, but I think the interior is very nice. Unfortunately, a lot of the furnishings are very distracting. Too many patterns and conflicting styles!
However, it’s nice to see something that isn’t cookie cutter.
This was clearly designed as a true CUSTOM single family house. I think the taste is very specific. It is such a wonderful contrast to the “chic and banal” that homes at this price point seem to have. This is a beautifully crafted and designed home. The quality is apparent.

Yes…. Uber cool!
And speaking of cool. That shower in the winter would likely be a cool one. Unless all the stone is heated. Which is highly likely in this type of build out. If not, gonna use lots of hot water to keep you comfy.
We have a skylight and two outside walls over my master shower and it’s a cold room in the am.

Yes… and with the area taking off (Mariano’s, Elston redirect, Hinkel Steel leaving) the price doesn’t seem too outlandish for all that land. If one had the means, loved the home and planned to live there a while, it would likely be a wise investment.

No way I’d pay someone $1,150 per sf for this. I’d build my own place for that money.
I’m told that a member of the Novak Construction family moved into a stunning home recently built on south Engle Blvd in Park Ridge. Very high end home. Could be the same owner but seems like a step down from the Burling mansion.

Seller paid $3 mil for this lot in ’09 (then in foreclosure iirc). Land cost increased exponentially here since – Parillo paid $8.3 mil. for his lot for SFR on this block. Penny P paid more than $7 mi. for smaller lot. Good luck with that plan.
This is not the only block in the world in which to live life.
