Love Big Loft Spaces? Get 1900 Sq Feet at 1000 W. Diversey Parkway in Lakeview
This 2-bedroom duplex loft at 1000 W. Diversey Parkway in Lakeview recently came on the market.
This is one of the penthouse units, but it doesn’t have outdoor space.
It does have 17 foot ceilings with exposed brick and ductwork.
Because of the tall ceilings, a second story was added with a spiral AND a regular staircase.
The master bedroom is on the main level and has a fireplace and an en suite bathroom with heated floors, a Jacuzzi and a full body shower.
The second bedroom is on the second floor along with a big lofted space.
According to the listing, this loft was rehabbed in 2014.
The kitchen has teak modern cabinets and a big island with waterfall quartz counter tops.
It has stainless steel appliances as well as a wine fridge.
From the pictures in the listing in 2013 and 2016, it appears that the half bath is the only part of the loft that hasn’t been renovated.
It has the other features buyers look for including central air, washer/dryer in the unit and heated garage parking.
If you love Starbucks, this loft is right above the big Starbucks at Diversey and Sheffield.
The Diversey Brown Line El stop is also just a half a block away for a quick commute.
This unit last sold just 2 years ago, in 2016.
It has come back on the market for 4.9% higher than the 2016 sale, at $489,900.
Will it get the premium?
Litsa Lekatsos at Re/Max Suburban has the listing. See the pictures here.

Cool space and decent price but low ceilings would drive me crazy. Probably ok if you a 5’5.
pretty cool – agreed ceilings look crazy annoying long term, but I bet this gets snapped up real quick with the lack of interesting ready to go supply.
I really dig the master bedroom but as a tall person you couldn’t pay me to live here despite how much I like the particular location. Is this location the chatterati’s gold standard for being walking distance to the el? Very close, but not against the train tracks?
1900 sf??
1900 seems a stretch. Maybe 1500.
2 decent sized Beds
Large Living Room
Large Dining Room/Area
Typical 1500 square foot place.
It’s a little too close to the train, a block or two more would be preferable.
“It’s a little too close to the train, a block or two more would be preferable”
I’d agree except on the rainy days!
But walking distance to
LPAC – get in shape so you are lookin good. Then a quick trip to the Qdoba or Potbelly for a healthy post workout snack
Then it is off to one of the many great bars such as Vaughns or Mad River. Too many others to mention! After many many drinks you meet a suitable attractive friend for the evening. You mention that your loft is just down the street. (She/he) takes you up on that offer. Hopefully when passing by R Kelly’s old mansion it does not inspire your random date to do some of his moves made famous at that address.
First a quick stop at the liquor store conveniently located on the next block east for some carry outs bottles to keep the party going. The suggestive look means another quick trip to 7-11 for some munchies to go with those bottles as well as and any other post party needs or prophylactic devices.
A few days later there is one more neighborhood stop to make. This time to the immediate care center just past the tracks for some medicine to address that new rash.
Yes indeed, this is in walking distance to everything!
JAN TERRI HAD PLENTY OF GREAT TIMES HERE BACK IN THE HAY DAYS LOLZ!!!!!

If they’re a 30 year old Millennial, they were 18 the last time R Kelly lived there! Millennials likely have no idea that R Kelly even lived in Lakeview, let alone where it was.
We’re old, jp3. Lol.
We have, however, chattered about the house in recent years.

Clusterfuck place. Two busy streets, el, bars on the window? If it’s a penthouse, why? Another ass realtor who doesn’t put up floor plan. But, of course, two fools will get in a bidding war over this so one of them can hang up their “live, love, laugh” posters.
I MISS WHITE HEN PANTRY LOLZ!!!!!
