Not All New Construction Sales Are Dead: 1307 W. Wrightwood in Lincoln Park
There still appears to be demand for new construction condo units in some neighborhoods such as this 19 unit development at 1307 W. Wrightwood, called Wrightwood Crossing, in Lincoln Park.
The website says the building is aiming for U.S. green building council LEED platinum certification.
Here are the stats on the building (out of 19 units):
- 8 are under contract
- 11 are still available
Delivery is expected sometime later in 2010.
Prices range from $495,000 for a 2 bedroom/2 bath with 1 parking spot to $1.999 million for a penthouse unit with 5 bedrooms/4.5 baths and 2 parking spaces.
Buyers will have their choice of cabinetry in the kitchen with Bosch appliances.
Kohler fixtures dominate in the bathroom.
These pictures are obviously computer generations as the building is under construction.
Will some new construction projects make a comeback in 2010?

Almost a year has passed sine we reported that this development had jpre-sold 8 units.

I drive by that project quite often, and for a building that does look quite large from the rendering in that top image, they’ve done a nice job of keeping the Wrightwood-facing front of the building in proportion with the single family homes & 3-Flats on the street.
I agree with Joe, misleading title, the title of this post should be changed to “Still only 8 units sold, what’s wrong with Lincoln Park?”

For the record, I didn’t suggest the title was misleading. I simply provided info fromo a story we reported earlier.
Perhaps Sabrina has more up-to-date info and these 8 salesl represent different buyers than the ones we reported on.
And, yes, Prudential Rubloff is a client of ours.

Any info on the Optima condos in skokie? drove by there saturday evening on the edens, not many lights on. it might have been because of the holidays.
I liked that concept and it being all windows with forest preserve views. didnt like all the glass and edens traffic staring at it. (plus punk school kids with telescopes)

Building 1 was sold out some time ago. Building 2 was almost sold out as of several months ago (my latest info) and Building 3 still had quite a few units available.
Optima’s a former client. You’ll find a ton of video we shot if you search at YouTube for: Optima Old Orchard. You’ll probably like the “tree-house in a forest” video – 3 walls of glass in the living room, looking out over the forest preserve.

Stop the car and visit, or at least walk around, some time. Lots of people consider David Hovey an architectural star. He’s little-known since he mostly works on his own developments.

Check out the videos. You’ll find lots of views to the east. There’s no intent to hide anything here.
You’ll also see an early video from me commenting on the noise from the Edens. Which, by the way, can’t be heard from inside the units.
It’s just plain wrong to make assumptions that suggest there’s an effort to hide something when there isn’t.
regarding this place, is there a train track directly to the east of this? I know there’s a track that runs to the west of Racine near Fullerton, and is part of the Lakeshore Athletic Club parking lot. A train comes through twice a week. Just wondering if the track extends north to this new complex, and thus the name, “Wrightwood (train) Crossing”? 😉

Not anymore. The candy factory (on Diversey) that was the destination of teh train was torn down, too. I don’t believe that there are any remaining destinations on the Lakewood Branch north of Clybourn, but I may be wrong.
What is/was the price range of those Optima condos discussed above?
