The Ford Motor Company was converted into loft-like condos in 2005. It has 14 units and attached garage parking.

This unit has some loft features including several walls of exposed brick and exposed ductwork along with large windows.

The first floor includes the kitchen, living and dining rooms along with a fireplace.

The kitchen has 42 inch cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances with a breakfast bar.

The second floor has the preferred layout buyers look for in a 3-bedroom, with all three bedrooms on the same level.

The master suite has a walk-in-closet and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The interesting thing about the bathrooms in this complex is that they left the brick exposed in most of them, which you don’t normally see.

The third level has a sunroom with a wet bar and a private rooftop deck.

The triplex has the features buyers look for including central air, washer/dryer in the unit and rare 2-car parking.

Listed at $560,000, including the parking, is this triplex a good townhouse alternative in this neighborhood?

The Fullerton Colonnade was built in 1908 and has 14 units. I don’t remember if there’s any parking with the building but this unit doesn’t have parking in the building.

The building does have a shared common rooftop deck.

This unit hasn’t been on the market in 21 years.

While the building fronts Fullerton, this unit stretches along the west side of the building that overlooks Cleveland.

While all the units in this building have great vintage features, the listing says this particular unit was designed and owned by famous historical architect Paul Gerhardt, who was known for his Beaux Arts design.

It has it all.

The unit has 10 foot ceilings, some of which have wood beams.

It has 10 inch (!) upper and base wood moldings.

3 pockets doors.

A butler swing door.

Arched doorways (check out the doorway from the foyer into the dining room).

Stained glass.

An original wall safe (not pictured?).

Built in 1929, One River Place was the old Montgomery Wards administration building.

It’s famous for the bronze statue of a woman titled “Spirit of Chicago” from the 1933 Century of Progress World’s Fair which was mounted on the tower.

The statute was preserved in the conversion into lofts which happened in 2002.

The second bedroom is fully enclosed, which isn’t always the case with loft bedrooms.

It has the features buyers look for including central air, washer/dryer in the unit and parking is $35,000 extra.

This loft has views over the Chicago River.

With the big Lincoln Park and Chicago Tribune developments coming in the next several years on the North Branch of the Chicago River, will properties with views get a premium?

Built in 2008, Trump Tower Chicago has 486 units and garage parking. There’s a hotel on the lower level, condo hotels, and then hotels on the upper floors.

It’s a full amenity building with an exercise room, an indoor pool and all the services of the hotel.

This unit is on the 86th floor and has views for miles.

The listing says there are only 4 units on this floor and the penthouse level has restricted access.

The listing says this is the first re-sale on this floor.

It has 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows.

The listing says it has been customized and has a Calacatta marble master bathroom and custom closets.

This was one of only a handful of units I saw that had a custom kitchen (i.e. not the original one from the developer).

It has white cabinets and counter tops with stainless steel appliances.

The unit has central air, washer/dryer in the unit and one car parking is included. There’s also a tandem parking space available.

Originally listed in March 2019 for $3.1 million, it has been reduced to $2.2 million.

There are 59 units for sale in the building including 12 condo-hotel units, one of which is a short sale, 2 parking spaces and 45 condos.

We chattered about Trump Tower Chicago just after the 2016 election after the Women’s Marchers gathered near it.

Protesters have been gathering at it again in 2020 during the George Floyd/BLM protests.

It has a different layout than you’d see in modern construction.

The entry level floor has a library, family or bedroom, a powder room, laundry room and storage.

The second floor has the living/dining room and kitchen, which leads to a deck.

The kitchen has white cabinets, exposed brick walls, what look like granite counter tops and customized white and stainless appliances.

Two other bedrooms, including the master, are on the top floor and share a bathroom.

The yard has a brick patio.

It has space pak cooling.

There are also skylights.

It appears from the floor plan that the family room/bedroom on the main level was added on at some point. The deck is on top of that room.

It has dark cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

The master suite has an en suite bath with dual sinks and 2 walk-in-closets.

It has a large private outdoor deck off the back of the unit.

One exterior parking spot is included in the price and the listing says the owner can transfer the lease in a second space that’s in a nearby lot.

The unit has the other features buyers look for including central air and washer/dryer in the unit.

This building is on a prime East Lincoln Park street which is steps from Lincoln Park and also near the shops and restaurants on Clark Street.

Originally listed for $1.15 million in February 2020, it went under contract in March and then fell out. It has since reduced $25,000 to $1.125 million.

Another unit in the building, #2E, with a similar layout and finishes, although the kitchen was closed off to the living and dining room, recently closed for $1,030,000 in early May.
