that living room sucks! first thing i would do is get rid of that stupid fake fireplace, which takes up probably 15″ of valuable space that this unit clearly cannot afford to waste.
then i’d have to figure out how to mitigate those crooked floors? was that contractor drunk when he installed them?
this is the low-income housing of the future.
The problem with this unit is its a beer bottle’s throw away from the El and its at the El’s height. Some people don’t mind living next to the El tracks, however these people are a smaller segment of the general population. Anybody seriously thinking about buying next to the El and living there would be crazy not to rent next to the El first to see if the noise bothered them.
I’m in the minority that could deal with the noise. Still, I’d expect some cost savings based on the limited market for such a unit.
That real estate agent stands to make a $10,000 commission on this unit and they are still too lazy to take a proper exterior photograph. It looks like the realtor leaned out the window and used the camera phone as they drove away. Those rusty El tracks definitely make me more interested in buying the place. Thanks for including them in the photo!
