We first chattered about Charlie Chaplin’s former penthouse in the historic Brewster at 2800 N. Pine Grove in Lakeview in January 2008.

It is still on the market and has been reduced $57,000.

The terrace is stunning. Who wouldn’t want to sip a morning coffee out there?

  4. If I remember, the pics were horrible…. Close ups of furniture, not space. Of course, it’s 2008, not having pics is sure to help make the sale.

  5. I love this building and would really like to see what this place looks like–hopefully it’s just a little shabby and in need of some TLC and hasn’t been mucked up with granite and dark cherry.

Castle Keepers Realty is really doing a disservice to their client with this listing. The company’s website is flabbergastingly bad. It looks and reads like it was put together by an illiterate seventh grader. Are most real estate sites this…dumb?

(Also, the site says that Chaplin lived in this apartment in 1902, when he was still a 13-year-old doing handstands for pennies on the streets of London.)

  7. i saw this unit. the agent is a real character (if you know what i mean). the layout is a mess and the decor atrocious, but the building is incredible, and the terrace is great.
